overheating problems
4.6L 98 Mustang gt
*first my antifreeze hose busted and spraided al lover my engine.
*I cleant it but now i can a Service light, the one that is Orange and all the way to the right. Looks like maybe a battery or something of that shape, with Fan blades and also has a liquid 3/4 filled the way to top.
* yesterday when i was driving i looked down and my car suddenly was past the Hot meter. So i pulled over , let it cooled down and drove home
-what does the orange service light mean? And do you think i just need more antifreeze? I replaced the hose, and added oil-since my car was out.

Check your intake manifold for cracks around the thermostat housing; those plastic intake manifolds have a track record of cracking.
Did you replace all the coolant that leaked out because of the hose?

I did replace the Coolant- but before i repalced the hose, i used a hose tape which failed horribly; so all the coolant i replaced it with im guessing was lost because it went all over.
Any idea what the orange battery servicer light is? thx

The battery light is red and looks like a battery; the orange light is cooling system related.

You have air in the system. You need to run the engine until it gets the coolant hot with the radiator cap open to let the air out untl the bubbles stop.

Especially when overheated, the plastic ones crack. in fact there was a TSB about them as well.
Check the cross over tube for a little plug on it. You can use a ratchet to open it up, fill it from there and let the air bubbles out since it's the highest point in the system.
Be very careful though. The plugs are known to be hard to get out and can strip easily

Make sure to check the thermostat and the housing!
Fixing the hose and adding coolant won't solve the problem if your thermostat isn't regulating temp.
