Not stir anything up? Lol. Your intentions were to pretty much make me look bad. I could post up stuff that makes you look bad too, but i'm not and never have done that. Just because a car makes more power on one tune versus another doesn't mean its a "better" tune. I'm not saying yours is bad, but seeing who makes the bigger peak numbers isn't the way to do it and you and I both know things would be more fair if the car was tuned on the same day....even though its pretty hard to keep conditions constant so thats the battle is pretty pointless anyways...like you said heat soak among other things. I'm not saying your tune is unsafe or anything like that...although you should probably tell your friends not to publically say that

Also just so people know looking at my maps would be pointless...fuel values from neptune won't work in crome and neither will the timing values. The actual timing output between the two programs is completely different.

Also cars will make similar dyno numbers in hot and cold weather on our dyno. All numbers are SAE corrected. With all things being equal on the car it will produce similar results.

As for the "cadilac" of tunes....if you are referring to the pricing then i don't really see where you get that. I don't see too many shops charging less than $350 for a full obd1 dyno tune.

Anyways...Like I said I think a shootout with different shops/tuners bringing their own cars to compete against eachother would be more fun.

 

I never said any of Scott's tunes were unsafe or that he in any way tunes unsafe. What I said was that he didn't tune the car to an unsafe level nor does he tune any car to that point.

 

I agree with most of what you said. My earlier post was in defense to what others were saying. Nothing in offense to you. I understand that it seems that way, but Saturday was honestly all in fun.

My friend was only stating that I would NOT tune a car to the point of being unsafe.
Lastly, I'm not trying to make you look bad, nor am I afraid of you making me look bad. You'd have to strech the truth to make me look bad.. or at least make a huge assumption about what you think know about me. Your sources might not be entirely accurate.

Thanks for coming to the shop, and making this happen. To be honest I already talked to Marcus about this... I expected for the car to make lower numbers, due to the fact the it was street tuned and that keeblers fully built b16 you tuned made 116hp then blew up.(correct me if I'm wrong, going of words of mouth)

I fully agree that it was not fair due to many reasons. But it made for a great night of exictement for everybody... I already said, we need one car, same day, look at all the factors of the tune. And see what's up. You already agreed to this, so did Matt. Let's make it happen.

As far as making you look like an asshat? You're doing that to yourself now I think... Our prices our very reasonable IMO.

Also didn't you rent a dyno to make sure you would put out higher numbers?? Once again just want to clarify.

Keeblers motor didn't blow up. When he dynoed it, the map sensor had gone bad causing all sorts of issues, basically limp mode.

I'm not bashing your prices either. I'm just saying it's a David vs. Goliath battle.

For the record yes we did rent out a dyno, Matt's numbers were revealed after I had finished tuning to what I thought was the safe limit.

anyone worth their salt in the realm knows that WOT / dyno is not the measure of a tuner.. neither of these guys should be glorified or damned based on the outcome.

-gimmie a good cold start up, or a hot restart
-lemme see what happens when i turn on the a/c
-how bout the mileage.. did it go all to hell or improve?
-does it make it down the track?

me personally i'd have just turned up the boost, its way more fun than fooling with tables

..set the a/f to 11 then timing to 15 and turn up the GD boost

now something remotely interesting would be seeing these guys strategies on getting those things to make some torque
