Langley Speedway's Wacky Wednesday
anyone know what kind of camcorders guys are using out there? they seem small... the pocket camcorders?
and anyone know where to find a good mount, maybe suction style?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...et%20Camcorder
think any of these would be stable and good at night?

gopro's camera's a fuckin sick
not only does the suction cup stick to the windows and not come off (unless you want it to), but you can stick it to the outside of your car too.
i got one and i was sketchy about the outside mounting, but it stuck like glue
good luck
i was just looking at that site earlier today actually. and i did notice also they had no night videos or pics. i know the one night i raced out at langley there was a black mustang out there that had one on his cowl. not sure if he still goes out there or if he still uses it though. i dont think so.
i think chris in the black mustang has a camcorder... i dont know what kind it is though
i've seen a camcorder in the mr2 that keeps blowing up too
... i just found the gopro hero wide motorsports on amazon for 139
edit: gotta love google

i think it is brighter at langley... i'll go for it
edit: edit: it's probably this bright at langley

I use a Canon FS100. It's worked great for a long time, quality is much better than most in car videos I watch. It recently stopped holding a charge though, battery wasn't the culprit. It's at Canon and I believe they'll fix it at no cost for me other than shipping it there. The one thing that sucks about it is it records in .mod which seems to be rare, because I can't find any decent software to edit with.
Here's some of my in car footage:

and that track looks fun as hell
is the camera mounted to the cage? it looks very solid. in that one it almost looks like a game because of the lighting on the dash and hardly any camera movement
