Re: can a non-turbo fc3s be turbo'd?
ha ha yeah i saw the other thread...... how old are you like 21 lol. your a joke. and a homo.
to the o.p. boosting a car is easy but theres alot of understanding and lil engineering involved.
the money it would take you to get all the turbo parts, install them, and try to get it running half way right isnt worth the trouble. i drove my friends 88 for about a month. it had a street port motor and was pretty stout to say the least. but it still was junk. maybe fun..... but junk.
if you could find a turbo 2 that would be better since its all there. this guy aboves a moron that compare apples to oranges and throws an insult like it backs him up in some idiotic way.
my original post was bogus to say the least. but and rx7 isnt a cheap project. the parts are gettin scarce and more and more expensive. and this was years ago.
imo youll have more fun trying to get it to blow if its running already, than hackin it up and just sending it to another sucker or worst the junkyard.

Re: can a non-turbo fc3s be turbo'd?
well most of the posts here were complete bullshit my friend..fuck vadriven forums and sign up on rx7club.com. I have 3 Fc's 2 turbo and one N/A and if you dont undertand how rotories work and are semi skilled mechanically then believe me get out now. they get extremly hard to replace parts and get an old 13b motor to run correctly from the get go unless it was maintained very well.
can you turbo a N/A motor
simple awnser is yes/ but very elaborate and actually more expensive in the long run. to turbo your motor correctly your looking at 3k worth of STANDARD parts ie NOT a GT35r turbo but a little t3 Not a big front mount but a little top mount etc if you get the drift.
no offense but reading your reply's in this thread gives me the impression that your not a grease monkey, and know nothing about rx7's or rotory motors in general and for gods sake rotories (rx2,rx3,early mazda trucks,rx7 all years,rx8) DO NOT HAVE PISTONS..they have rotors exacxtly posted in my pic next to my name.
Can I swap a Turbo engine/Jspec engine/13BT/etc into my Non Turbo?
Yes, check these links:

How do I add a turbo to my NA 13B?
What Turbo kits can I add onto my non turbo RX-7?
There are no longer kits formally made at the time of this post, however there are companies from time to time that do make available non turbo to Turbo Kits. Because most of these companies stop building the kits, or go out of business in short time, it is impossible to keep active links for them.
Most people that turbo a non turbo make their own kits:
Using the stock TII turbo, exhaust manifold with spacer, NA intakes and NA ECU:

Re: can a non-turbo fc3s be turbo'd?
in my past experiences the 6 port turbo conversions werent worth the time and money when you can just start with a turbo platform or just swap in a turbo motor. but like i said there is plenty of sites online that can help you which ever way you decide to go. be prepared to put in some money and some time if you want the car done right. i have owned a turbo 6 port/na rx7 a turboII and supercharged rx7s. they are fun cars to have, so good luck with the project

Re: can a non-turbo fc3s be turbo'd?
could i suggest something dont go turbo if u go full bridgeport with power fc u can kick and stock turbo II ass n/a rotary has higher comp than turbo, so it would be a waste of money if u turboed it, but if u want turbo a compelt swap with trans would be great cause the n/a and turbo II trans is different on the york is stronger on turbo II
