My RHD 240 Build Thread
sorry for the crappy pics, it was dark..
anyway, i did more work today...
Master Gasket kit... and rocker arm stoppers to be installed.

pulled the valve cover and intake/exhaust manifolds as well as drained all the fluids and finally got the motor on the engine stand haha... Got a few suprises today when pulling the trans, ACT clutch and a clean flywheel which is nice, i was happy it was kinda like christmas when i saw the yellow haha..

NGK sparkplugs in there as well, looking almost brand new! woot...
heres some more pics of the progress i made.

1 more..

going to pull the head next time and inspect everything as well as flip the motor over and pull the oil pan to check it out and install the new greddy one.

i got my car dynoed a couple weeks ago and it made 266.7 on my redtop with a s14 t28 at 11.5 psi on stock injectors, fmic, 3" exhaust, z32 maf, safc1(untuned) and a nismo fpr with around a 11.98 afr. now granted im maxing out the stock injectors i was surprised myself. in the next two weeks ill be ordering a set of 550s and a tuned ecu tho
another update...
spent about 6 hours today scrubbing the block with a wire brush and using some degreaser to get rid of all the body dust/gunk that had been built up on the motor... this thing was dirty and now my back/neck/arms are a little sore
here's a few shots after scrubbing for hours..

i didnt scrub the front yet because i have the cover off and i will be sending that in with the head a few other parts to be cleaned at the head shop.

here's the head in the box, ready to go off to the head shop for a cleaning/machine work

and after i had cleaned it all, i hit it with some high temp silver to make it all look fresh
this is a pic of the oil pan after painting, which was filthy when i got it.

and after i finished all of that, i started to try and remember how the wiring harness came out haha...

also i found the driver (now passenger) side door handle with the power window switch, so i may keep the power windows after all, ill just have to extend a few wires from one side to the other, shouldnt be that hard.
oh yeah, i also went to advanced today to get some oil for my sti since i figured i would get tired of scrubbing so i would take a break by changing the scooby oil..
they have a deal right now if you buy the 5.25 gallon oil from mobile one and buy an oil filter you pretty much save 8 dollars and get a free oil filter, so now i have a new mobile one filter for the 240 whenever i actually get around to putting oil in it haha
