its not so much ducati, its ducatis sponsors.
marlboro and xerox = big money sponsorship.

also this is yamahas 1st WSBK championship in 12 years. and the first time theyve nabbed managed to nabb the WSS championship from TenKate honda for the 1st time since 2002.

Rossi on the M1 in MotoGP needs no explanation

Yamaha also won in the Supersport class in AMA, and James Stewart won it for them on dirt. They're having a pretty good year.

P. S. They're saying Spies R1 may be the hardest bike to ride in the WSBK paddock. haha

Crash.net comments stating that former 500cc World Champion Wayne Gardner has said Ben Spies' title-winning Yamaha YZF-R1 is the most difficult bike to ride on the WSB grid (also tested a Ducati, Suzuki, BMW, Honda and Kawasaki)! "

I have not seen that quote from a more reliable source yet though. I'm guessing it's just the way he preferred it because he's a bigger guy for a motorcycle racer, and probably not as easy to toss around compared to the others.
