You're exactly right.The Lotus weighs around 2,000 lbs and has 200-300ish HP,depending on what engine setup you get.I guess they've determined the four lug hubs are enough for that power and weight.
I think it really all comes down to the weight mostly.It's rare any more to see a car with any substantial power and a curb weight that's not well into the 3,000s.
