Steve, expect a call from me within the next couple of days. I got to try out a drz400 and even that position messed with my hip and knee a bit. I may need to invest in something that has forward controls so I can still ride and I figured you're the one to go to on that subject.

I had my bike at that shop once at one of those dyno days.

I don't know if it was just that day, but the tire slip charts were not used, the roller was never adjusted for different bike wheelbases. So some bike tires hooked up, some were slipping and was very obvious, mine in particular.
Then when my bike came off the dyno it was reading 247 degrees, and the temp was flashing. At which point I wondered. Didn't the operator see the flashing thing beside the tach, and was he ever gonna turn it off?

Those two things kinda turned me off from there, again, I don't know if that was just the dyno day. But it kinda made me wonder.
I don't doubt dudes work, I've seen it, I think.
But none of that necessarily means he's as nasty tuning a bike on a dyno. Like suspension. You can know the basics, then there's some more.

Oh! And to the dick rider that gave me negative rep because I said I'd pass. You're the idiot, because you don't know why I said what I said, what experience made me say that. But you're on skr00z' nuts so bad you can't even think straight.

He's not sweating it, yet you are. I dare you to speak up and say who you are and why you did that?
Then tell me who's dumb now after reading my reason above. How would you like it if someone almost overheated your bike. Would u be in a rush to go back there?

I don't even know skr00z's face, and if it was even him on the dyno back then. Fukin dick rider. If he says its not him and tells me if he uses tire slip charts I'd probably be more inclinded to give it a go.

Yeah, negative rep that too mofo.

well... I do know that if you run a bike really hard with not alot of air going over it.. it will get hot. If they got it up to 210 - 220... which is normal operating temp. Which would be quite easy if you drove the bike there and they put it on the dyno. It would have been about 210 - 220. Since you already heated up the bike and they were running it wide open with minimal air flow.

Then when they pulled it off the dyno, if the bike was at 220 (again, normal operating temp) when they shut it off. With the water not cycling and the fan not on... the heat from the engine still cooking.. could easily heat the water in the engine up to 240's. Then when you turn the bike on... The guage will read extremely hight, but it will begin to drop, when the water is cycling again (IE: the bike is started).

I know this because I had a problem with my bike's fan not coming on. I turned the bike off at 215 and when I turned the key after pulling off the side of the road. It was at 235, and I was still rolling while the bike was off. This was sitting in traffic at idle and I drove down the shoulder when it was over 215 and the fan was not on, I shut off the bike and coasted while I watched the temperature rise on the bike while it was off. It went up about 20 degrees until I turned the bike back on to get it going again and the temp immediately dropped to 218. I can only imagine that a bike that was at 220 and ran at 10,000 + rpms and then shut off would get up too.

I am not making excuses for the shop, just telling you from my personal experience. This could have happened.

Skrooz tuned my bike and I haven't had any problems as of yet. Hell, my 600 is beating up on 1000's all day! He also installed my block off plates and did a couple other minor repairs on my bike. He also hooked me up with a couple things as well... since I spent quite a bit of money at the shop that time.

Which by the way... I might have a guy buying the 636... I will tell him that yal are doing some cheap tuning skrooz.

Thnaks for your input, again, i have no problem with Skr00z, ive heard nothing but good things about him, but when he mentioned that shop alarms went off in my head.

uhmm, im not saying the bike shouldnt be hot, im saying if he shut it down, took it off and rolled it out to me and it was still flashing, why didnt he shut it down sooner. my bike starts flashing at 245, if he shut it down and gave it back to me at 247 then it was flashing for a good while before, he shut it down.
220 and all that is normal hot operating temp, even into the 230s. when it starts flashing at 245, its too damn hot.
Youre assuming the bike went on the dyno hot, but not really, it was sitting for over an hour before it was my turn, and it wasnt coming from far.
Your bike can beat up 1000s all day, even stock if those 1000 riders dont knwo how to ride, so thats irrelevant.

My concerns are with the tire slip chart as most people dont use em because they dont understand them, i myself im just learning about them. Tire pressure alone can vary dyno readings as much as 15whp. Im not thinking he'll screw up my bike, im just wanting to make sure its worth my time, not even so much the money, as $150 is a steal.

I feel ya... but I dont think that they ran it over the light. Would be pretty hard to do that. but getting it to 220 on a dyno is easy.. especially if it is a warm or hot day. And as soon as he turned the bike off.. it would start cooking that water... would only take a minute to get up to that temp.

Its your bike though... you can do with it what you want.

and my bike has alot of kick to it. It is impossible to hold the front tire down under 90 if I nail it. He did a good job tuning it.

what light are you talking about?
dude it was flashing @ 247 with the key ON and the engine OFF, thats right after he rolled it off the dyno and gave me my shit back... but again, i dont know if it was Steve or not, because im not sure if ive met dude or not at the BP.
