Ok my alternator is going out, the person i got the swap from had a sohc alternator rigged on it with spacers.
I have a obd1 ls alternator that plugs in and will bolt up but dont have the adjustment to make the ls belt or sohc belt fit
have been told to use washers on the bracket or to get a smaller belt
any suggestions? will the ls alternator work?

The Alt will most likely work, but I think that the plug (wire plug) might be different.

I think that's a drop-in replacement if you have an OBD1 car, if you get the proper belt for it. Get a del Sol or 99-00 Civic Si belt, either should be a perfect fit.

I did not read this right. The LS Alt will work you might have to take back the belt a few time until you find one that will work.

Or just swap pulleys.
