Yes, all track wheels should be inspected regularly as well as many other points on the vehicle considering they exhibit accelerated wear compared to a street car.
So now you're saying they DO wear out quicker than street wheels on the track...?
Track wheels are meant to be very light, at the expense of long term durability. Street wheels are heavier duty and heavier weight, but will last a really long time with only minimum care.
Someone explain "track wheels" and "race-only" wheels to me... Whats the difference between "street" wheels?
They're actually all the same.
The only difference is you pay more for the wheel from the guy who designed it first. So everybody who is smart- and uses words like "yourself" when they really mean "you"- should just buy the cheapest possible wheel in the design they like and tell everyone else they don't know what they're talking about.
I figured this... Basically its a quality thing which I already knew... Thanks for clearing that up... ^_^
I'm goin w/ 80 dollar steelies... Fuck it...
Watch out if you are getting diamond racing steelies or some other racing steelie. They bend real easy due to them being very thin and basically "Throw away" wheels for race/stock cars.
