Finally 2011 Mustang will bring back 5.0
"The rear suspension utilizes a new three-link system with a Panhard Rod which controls the vertical and lateral movements of the axle. [5] This live axle rear suspension provides the benefits of reduced cost and weight over heavier, more expensive independent rear suspensions. In spite of this, Ford has drawn heavy criticism from the automotive journalism community for the decision to equip the current Mustang with the live axle system. At a press conference, Ford stated that to include an independent rear suspension would have added $5,000 to the showroom price of the car."
ah ok. 99% of the mustangs I have ever dealt with of that body style were 03/04 cobras so I always figured they changed it with that body style.
One thing I always get a kick out of is the amount of people that will complain about certain things, swearing it's a big deal, when if you really were to put them in a situation where they had to guess, they'd never be able to tell the difference. IRS being one of those, 99% of drivers wouldn't be able to tell the difference, and even an experienced driver I don't think would really be able to notice much unless they were trying to really tear up a backroad or were on a track with turns.

Are you kidding? The first time I floor it or hit a bump in a car I can tell if it's IRS or not.
