I didnt know what the hell he was talking about... i had to google it and this was what i found: derives from the Latin: The Race for Life. Curriculum = Course Vitae the genitive of Vita = Life = Life Course (its a fancy resume). I think he may have already started drinking.

Pretty much,
I had to create one this past year in order to become a client of a certain international group. Apparently a resume was too basic or whatever lol. CVs are often used by Doctors and Lawyers when they are looking to get a job with a private practice or law firm.

But yeah a CV is basically a fancy way of noting employment, academic credentials, publications, contribution or significant achievements. It goes beyond what a resume does. More of a complete story of your life thus far, and all of what you've done academically vs. a resume which pertains more to just your previous job experiences.
