I have the dreaded FLASHING CEL!

Car Specs:

2004 WRX Wagon 5spd (BONE STOCK)
190k Miles

Changed the plugs and coilpacks, checked the air filter to make sure it's on and the tabs are correct. 2 fresh tanks of GAS w/ fuel treatment. Did an oil change and did a compression check. ALL GOOD. Checked my turbo lines and IC connections for leaks. ALL GOOD

No HARD CEL just flashing CEL. It comes on during wierd times..accel, downshift, turning, and idle.

any suggestions?

Or does anyone have a 2.5 Block they would like to sell

 

Just added Misfire cyl. #3 and that's it.

 

So no other OBD2 codes other than a misfire code?

 

Swap coilpacks to see if you someone got a bad one? See if the misfire moves with the coilpack.

 

I bought brand new coilpacks and replaced them with the plugs. Factory plugs not iridium or 1step cold. And nooowwwww...when I turn into a parking space "sometimes" the car will just shut-off. Fuel-pump and injectors are next.

 

Dont forget the fuel filter.

This is weird. I don't see many connections between the times you experience problems. How did your oil look last change? Did you check it for any metal shaving?

 

I mean Fuel Filter, Fuel pump, and injectors. Oh and my PS pump is leaking :P anyone have a PS pump? lol 190k miles and she starts to give me problems. lol

 

Time to finally build her!

 

I think the leaking PS pump is probably what is making it shut off when parking. Probably too much load on the engine than it can regulate at low throttle when turning.

 

That's what I was thinking w/ the PS pump Hopefully this round of mods can cure my Wagon!
