02-05 WRXs come with a 2.0l boxer. 06+ WRXs come with a 2.5l but has differant internals than the STI. All the STIs came with a 2.5 with a more aggresive cam profile, larger injectors, forged rods, ect.

And yes, the plan is for it to be pretty quick, lol.

Here in a month or 2 the car wont cost me anything to own aside from insurance (which while the car is down I can cancel until its up and running again). Plus me and the chick are in no rush to make that decision so Im good to go.

You upgraded axles and driveshaft also? since you said the tranny wont like that power for long i cant imagine they'll like it either.

Na those will be fine...the 2 weak links on the WRX are the tranny...then the rear end....both of which can be upgraded to factory STI pieces (STI 6 speed, and R180 rear end) and theyll hold the power pretty good.

Theres a company currently running a completely stock STI 6-speed that just went 9.50s.
