Default common problems with honda s2k's

before i end up gettin one, what are common problems with these cars?

While there are some on this board who have them, I think I would try a S2K specific board first.

Tensioners sometimes are noisey.

Stupid owners.

im tryin to figure out like if there are things that loosen over time and things like that but ill check for specific s2k.

Go over to S2ki.com/forums. PLENTY of info there.

From my experience though, purchase the newest/lowest mileage one you can afford. If it's an AP1 you want, stick with an 02-03. Also, do not purchase one that has been modified to hell.

Just like Pete said,

purchase one in stock form.

Plan on having to replace:

-Timing Chain Tensioners

-Convertible tops are dook pre-glass tops.

-Hard shifts/tough clutch's, launching,burnouts, hard 1-2 shifts can kill a Diff easy.

If you are looking for a heavy amount of information, check out S2ki.com. There are plenty of knowledgeable owners over there, friendly and very helpful. Just conduct your paragraphs/questions a little better. A majority of the S2000 owners over there are 35+.

most common problems is they have small fenders, ballin wheels dont fit

The rear diff was the weak link in mine. It did have 125k on it though, so I wouldn't really blame it on the car. Who knows what was done to it before I owned it.
