common problems with honda s2k's
Go over to S2ki.com/forums. PLENTY of info there.
From my experience though, purchase the newest/lowest mileage one you can afford. If it's an AP1 you want, stick with an 02-03. Also, do not purchase one that has been modified to hell.

Just like Pete said,
purchase one in stock form.
Plan on having to replace:
-Timing Chain Tensioners
-Convertible tops are dook pre-glass tops.
-Hard shifts/tough clutch's, launching,burnouts, hard 1-2 shifts can kill a Diff easy.
If you are looking for a heavy amount of information, check out S2ki.com. There are plenty of knowledgeable owners over there, friendly and very helpful. Just conduct your paragraphs/questions a little better. A majority of the S2000 owners over there are 35+.

The rear diff was the weak link in mine. It did have 125k on it though, so I wouldn't really blame it on the car. Who knows what was done to it before I owned it.
