Fly wheel ring broken

Fly wheel ring broken
according to the mechanic, my itr flywheel "ring" broken. And now he asks me to change both clutch and flywheel. does it make sense at all? can i just change the flywheel alone? the engine is <20k mile from jap. any helps would be appreciated.

You can change the flywheel alone, assuming that the clutch isn't worn very much. It really makes sense to do them at the same time though, because the process is the same to replace a clutch and also because a new clutch will break in nicely on the fresh new flywheel friction surface. It's the same with brakes; you wouldn't really replace a brake rotor without putting in new pads also.
How did you break a flywheel ring gear with less than 20k miles on the engine? Something doesn't really sound right...

^I don't know....i drove so hard i guess too much i guessed.... I bought the engine from Tiger japanese..... I guess i have to change both of them at once.....
