Default Clutch switch

My clutch switch went out last night and I had to Push start the car to get it running. This morning I had the switch disabled (TEMPORARILY) so that I don't have to push in the clutch to start the car. Are there any downsides to this??

Any info will be appreciated, thanks.

Being able to start the car without the clutch disengaged is the downside. It's mostly just a safety thing so the car doesn't lunch forward and drive through a fence (or into a pond) if it's in gear when you start it.

That's exactly what I though, I just have to get used to not leaving it in-gear when I park it.
Thanks!
