I was eying an RB25 for a while. You really have to do something about that stock intake. The stock setup is awful. I know a guy in New Orleans that has done a few of these swaps. If you get stuck during the install, he would probably be able to help.

I have a rb25 in my s13.. live in va beach... its a pretty simple swap... really all comes down to witch mounts you use witch kinda draws the rest of the options out for you.(downpipe..driveshaft..ect..)... iono about 400hp.. but i know arp head studs and head gastket the stock internal rb25 will put out around 375 safely...(stand alone ems bigger turbo..) i sold my ka for the price of an rb... swap cost me 1200 so far( mount kit Im.q45..ect..)... if u OR ANYONE end up doing the swap.. i can wire it all up!... or tell you how to...

A box stock SR can handle 400hp. You just need a good ECU tune. So to hear that you need studs and a gasket on an RB to hold 375 sounds a bit sketch to me. Having a car handle boost and power really comes down to fuel management. I've seen plenty of motors melted due to poor fuel management.

In the RB world, I think the biggest hurdle to overcome are replacement parts (although the import market does try to keep the essentials in stock) and the initial wiring job for someone who's new to motor swaps. OP, if you're uncertain about doing the wiring on it yourself, I would highly consider taking up J40 on his offer to help you.

This, plus methanol injection would go a long way.
