Trim is usually a spec for compressor wheels, so a 60 trim turbo has a 60 trim compressor wheel.
Point well taken.

But yes, you're right, for this particular comparison (standard 60 trim vs. 60-1), identical inducer measurements with a different exducer diameter will yield a different trim. Only when different measurements on each side of the compressor will yield a similar trim, (for example the GT-3076R and GT-3582R).

Please pardon my misinformation, my turbo jargen is a bit rusty.

Another thing you must look at is efficiency, honestly you want the turbo to be in the perfect range and not just blowing hot-air.

If you squeeze a 60-1 to that 550 limit, I commend you.
it's a non-billet wheel. the motor this is going on is a 11:1 compression b16 on E85, motor made 337whp @ 9psi on my old Garrett 60 trim turbo that was dying on me, or at least that's what I was told about what turbo it was before I put it on. yeah I don't mind upping the boost to the so called "sweet spot" of the turbo. It's amazing how much power some turbos pick up when you actually use them in their efficiency range. a local shop had a 35r on this b16 and it was only picking up about 9-10hp for every lb of boost they went up between 8-13psi but as soon as they went above 14psi for every lb they turned the boost up the car picked up at least 20whp for each lb, it was pretty damn impressive. Any idea when I would see full boost with the 6031 on a b16?

B16's are very peaky due to their short stroke, but with static compression that high + the E85, I would say full boost around 4k (seat-of-the-pants) with that turbo. Are you on forged internals? It's the same size of your old 60 trim Garrett (IF that's what it was), so reaching maximum pressure should be very similar to what the old one did.

What power are you shooting for this time around? Is this car a DD, track whore or both?

power goals are about the same at most 360whp for low boost, for high boost I need to upgrade my fuel system a lil bit. but I think when I put the new turbo on the numbers should be a bit higher, because my last turbo lasted all of 2 hrs if that the next day:/ so it could have been struggling to make more power on the dyno. Car isn't my DD now but that will change in the spring, I just hate cruising around in cold weather. I plan to hit up a few track events this year, but it's no dedicated race car. Not concerned about the motor, I know b16's are pretty stout in stock form, on top of my great tuner and running E85 all the time i'm sure if I treat the motor good it will last for a while.

b16/ctr pistons with stock rods/ built head itr cams, arp headstuds, blockguard
60 trim turbo (unknown turbo, was told it was a 60 trim from previous owner) custom ramhorn manifold, spearco FMIC, greddy type S bov, 3in downpipe, 38mm wg 8lb spring will be tuned via ECtune on E85
9psi falling to 8psi by redline. this is my original dyno plot.
