[QUOTE=RE-SPECGARAGE;6786349]We always cut that hump out and weld a 1.5 x 3/4 rectangular brace. It allows you to put the seat about 2.5" lower
If at all possible could you post an interior picture of the brace once it has been welded in? I would greatly appreciate it, so I can make sure I get it the first time. Thanks in advance!

I dont think we have a pic of the interior brace. It basically takes the place of the oem support and its welded at various spots. it only goes up about half way up the tranny tunnel

this is wyt rice's s13 coupe. This was the beginning of the floor pan mod. basically cut 2 slit about 1/3 and 2/3 on the hump and bang away. after its all done put the brace in place and weld everything up. keep the brace in one piece. what we did was cut the end of the new brace to shape it into the contour of the tranny tunnel.

So I should take out the stock brace, remove the "cat hump" by either hammering it down or just cutting it out and welding in new sheet metal, and then bend a rectangular tube to go almost up to the E-brake is?
