Dope Status!!
That's a LADA. That's one of the worst cars ever manufactured in any country, and is a state run car company owned by Russia. It makes early 90s Hyundais look like the pinnacle of quality control and engineering. This is just like a rusty 80s VW. You can put wheels on it and lower it put it's still a heaping pile of shit. Wise up.
Had a bunch of these in England when I lived there and they were the joke of the automotive industry at the time. Nobody would be seen dead in one, walking was a better option.
He more than likely did that to his car to impress hipster morons like you.
All of these "stance" trends are typical one-up-manship by doing the most absurd things to cars. Nobody wants to drive around in a car with massive body damage, or slowly eaten away by rust.
And he's correct, Ladas were awful cars.

He might've done it to impress people, sure, but you have to take into account the rage that people would spout upon seeing it, Fabrik8 and you for example, so he might not've. I know when I finish my car, in which the defining features are wheels and stance, I'll be doing it to make me happy, not anyone else.
I agree that people don't want a car with massive body damage, rust, etc. (me included) but I hardly think that Z is done, per say. He'll probably end up repairing and repainting it, in which case it will be a nice clean car in which the defining features are wheels and stance, in which case you will still probably foam up threads about it.
And finally, upon Googling Ladas, I have come to the conclusion they are completely God-awful cars. That doesn't stop the fact that that one looks hella dope.
Dope is in the eye of the beholder.
One man's trash is another man's treasure.
Those two things should be in size 7 font, bolded, and red at the beginning of each of these threads. I mean I don't like most of the beat up ass "stanced" cars that are posted up here either but obviously some people do. You may not be able to fathom why someone could like something like that but the way I look at it, its no skin off my nuts and this entire thread is built with what each individual thinks is "dope" anyway, not what is the most practical, best for the performance of the car, and especially what every single person approves of. I just don't see the sense in getting worked up about it, IMO there is enough variety in this thread for everyone to find something they like or think is "dope".
-End rant

I'll address each of your comments individually...

The whole stance movement is like 1980s fashion, things had to get bigger and more absurd until eventually it became uncool.
The whole roof rack is the epitome of this stupid fad. Some guy put a roof rack on his sedan, the next guy put something ironic up there, like a beer keg, from there it was pile on the most useless junk one could find.
This is done to take the photo and post about it on a blog, period.
But who am I talking to, a guy who thinks $80 for a used t-shirt is a good deal.
I went back several more pages and found more support for my suspicion that all you do is bitch/moan a/b other ppl's DS posts. Then I got bored and found more cool stuff to post.

fuggn love this shit:
