I've only met Chris a few times over the years, but he was always a nice guy. Was this just a case of Pnuemonia gone wild?

The pneumonia which is an infection of the lungs is just one of different illnesses that can lead up to ARDS. ARDS basically doesn't allow the lungs to supply enough oxygen to the rest of the body... Leading to multiple organ failure. It's honestly pretty nasty stuff... =\
