^ Ditto. Advertising that you have a weapon in the first place makes you a target for someone else without good intentions.

 

I am kind of taking this thread into a different direction, but i will add that the myth that open carry creates a target is generally false. Show me me an article where a person open carrying was targeted because he was open carrying. I've open carried many times, and i can say that it is more of a deterrent than anything else. Most people think you're a cop, or security and people who are up to no good avoid you. Reasonable gun owners wear a holster that is designed so that you cant simply pull the gun out if some criminal decided to walk up behind you and grab it, which doesn't happen.

That being said, i don't really open carry anymore. i have grown to prefer the concealed method simply because i don't want people to know i'm carrying. But, i wont knock someone else who is simply exercising their 2nd amendment right.

Back on topic: i think i will check out the meet this weekend. havent had a chance to go to many car shows/meets since i've been in Virginia

Weather is looking pretty great for tonight. but dress somewhat warm! It will be in the 60s and possibly into the 50s by midnight.

Also REMEMBER the meet starts at 7pm!

I stopped by on the way home from my meet. I seen about 45 cars when I got there roughly 1115. Not bad. As for the spot... shit i have an suv and I hated all the speed bumps.... besides that I do kinda like how close it is to the 95... I stopped there with my buddy and looked around. I was hella tired and he was hella cold so we headed home. I would like to just say congrats on your numbers.

PS I did noticed alot of the cars that came through my/seans meet was chilling at yalls lol. If I didnt have my own trust me I would go to the one with more people also. BUT I am the one that wont come on here bashing this meet just as I hope you wont bash mine out of respect for me

UPDATE

We had a great crowd at the VA Rides Car Meet tonight. A total of around 150-160 cars came out. Unfortunately someone decided to go on a road by the meet and throw rocks towards the meet. I am VERY sorry to Dylan and the owner of the silver focus for everything. They, as well as myself, received damage to our vehicles from the rocks. If anyone hears ANYTHING about who may have done this, please let us know. We will now have people park several spots away from that side of the lot. Thanks for everyone for coming out tonight. We appreciate all of your support!

you should have stayed! i still havent met you in person! lol. the speed bumps arent that bad. keeps people from speeding through the lot bad. if several 240s can get through okay when they are about 1-2" off of the ground, i think most cars are alright yeah you came after everything happend. around 10 or so someone decided to throw rocks (as described above) and then we called the cops and had to give statements, etc. it sucked.

anyway thanks for the congrats! it was a little chilly tonight so im very pleased with the amount of cars we had. and yeah i know a few guys left our meet to go see what was up at revx and then came back. and dont worry, im not bashing revx. the only thing i tell people who ask me about revx is the only issue i had with it is its location and how its pretty out of the way. i dont really feel thats bashing though. and of course if someone asks me what happened with me and revx i explain what happened. unfortunately i did have several people tell me tonight that sean is still bashing the va rides meet and myself. its kind of funny though bc he was bashing me to people who have known me for years lol. but it is very irritating. i really hope he cuts that out.

but anyway you need to come out around 9-10 on a saturday night! thats our peak time when we have around 100+ cars there at any given time.

A few updates for this weekend.

Because of what happened last weekend we will be having people park a few spots away from the end of the lot where the rocks came from. We also will be having people patrolling that side road just in case the same idiots try and do it again. There should be trash cans out this weekend too so if you have any trash PLEASE respect the property and put it in a trash can. Thanks!
