Re: POLL: keep my truck, build an offroader..... or.....
^ ? i see that kind of stuff everywhere..
get something lower with 4 doors, comfort features for dd, diesel with a trailer, or gas with a trailer if your toy can get away with street driving, maybe a f250 will be fine with no more then 35s.
then do what smoky said but ill be more exact: 91-01 exploder, fully built 302 swap(if the 97-01 doesnt have one already), manual transfercase, d60&sterling, 5.38s spooled f&r, 39s, electric cutouts off the longtube headers, so you can have full exhaust for the trails. leafs/coils/4-link/coilovers is up to you.

Re: POLL: keep my truck, build an offroader..... or.....
I say keep your current truck, fix the little loose ends that may be apparent, and find something a little older that you can turn into a toy for not a lot of money. Also, I'd look to add another car as the dd...like an older car you can pay cash with that gets good gas mileage. Make that your every day car...to and from work, grocery's, etc. Use the truck as your toy and family hauler, use the toy as your toy. Win, win, win.
