yea growing up we always had trials bikes, not like this one but the old mid 70s steel tank yellow and white ones. we all had them, me my mom,dad,cousins and uncle all road trials. we all essentially had the same bike just varying in size. my uncle still has most of them sitting in his barn but hes so stubborn about letting anything go...even to his darling nephew who visits so much more than his own kids ill get one of those things from him one day.

not actual bike but googled up a picture of what we used to have. i have my sights set on one of the larger ones he has set for occasional road use.




i remember stories of my dad being chased around richmond for running his trials bike up and down the stairs of a bunch of government buildings and even getting locked up for a few days for running around the rocks down at the james...lol

 

I actually learned to ride on a trials bike down in FL when I lived at home. My dad has 2 Sherco's and a Montesa.

Down in FL there's some awesome terrain and he's big into trials.

Learning on a trials bike is a great way to learn, and you keep alot of the stuff you learn with you even when you get a bike with a seat.

 

ya i`ve been trying to coax the 76` 250..maybe larger? out from my uncle. i think it would be a fun thing to have around here. streetable enough to cart around on a nice day and versatile enough to still go just about anywhere off road. I could also see myself loading it up and heading to big levels/crab tree falls or a few other places i used to frequent in blue ridge. i think i would get way more use from one of these trials bikes than i would a street bike at this point and time in my life.

 

I love the weird new ones that the monster and red bull teams ride.
