Which tire do you have on the rear? Mismatching tires is asking for trouble.

^ this.

I have been riding with Michelin 2CT's for the last two years. Thinking about switching next season. Haven't decided if I want to switch to something like Pirelli because I KNOW they wear faster.

I have a battalax bt23 on the rear. I've mixed match battalax tires for past 2 years b/c they keep updating them and no longer carry the one I use to have. This bt16, a local guy can give me a good deal on, so I was intersted. And I need a tire soon with track day on Monday. I heard mixed opinions on mixing different brands, I guess I'll stick with the battalx.

F/R?
Trust me I'm not a good enough rider to notice the difference.

F/R=front/rear

It's not about noticing a difference, the difference is the confidence they will give you to keep the paint up and the rubber down.

Oh. True true. Words of wisdom. The battlax tires aren't bad, positive reviews. Seem like a good option for the type I riding I do. If my tires ever wore out at the same time I would switch brands.

This is what you should be buying if you have the regular bt23 on the rear:

If you have the bt23 GT on the rear then you need this front tire:

^ You kind of just have to bite the bullet in most occasions of tire wear and get both though. That's why I didn't swap this year (other than the 400 dollar tire cost ). My back wears much faster than my front, and I think I have a slow leak in the front; but I won't replace either until I can replace both at the same time.
