Ive gone to 3 auctions (2-5 units at each). Nothing but junk in all of them, tons of people there, and units going for way more than they should have. I finally bought one the 3rd time around because I was really itching to be able to go though peoples shit. It was a unit full of boxes from front to back and top to bottom (10x10 i think). Me and a dude went at it and I ended up paying $150 which seemed like a good price. It took me around 4 hours and 3 trips to the dump and I swear to god the only thing I didnt throw away was a coffee mug. Never again.
