Kind of,I guess.I started skating in 1984,so in the early 90's when all the tech stuff started I was totally blown away.Being good at skating when I started meant you could ollie off a curb.All of a sudden your run of the mill 15 year old was doing flip tricks down stairs,and the whole "crew" thing started where you were basically required to act all hard towards other groups of skaters and all that dumb shit.I did learn all the new tricks and kept current in that respect as skating evolved,but always tried to be friendly to anybody who rode a skateboard,and I always had more fun just cruising around the skateparks or streets as opposed to trying one trick for hours on a curb or set of stairs.
I just think it's really cool to see somebody doing something out of the norm.Kids are now so concerned with wearing the right clothes and what "kind" of skater you are,it just makes no sense to me.
They've made a comeback in recent years,but I was at a skatepark a while back doing no-complies and these young kids were like "WTF is that?!"...When I told them what it was and that Ray Barbee made them popular they were then like "WTF is a no-comply and WTF is a Ray Barbee?!".Never mind.

^^ Skateboarders will never rule the world.. Because the world frowns upon skateboarders because as TNGChis somewhat said, they hang out in crews now and they want to act "hard" so they end up destroying private and public property just to look cool around their friends. Sad part is, most of the skaters who give skateboarders a bad name are the ones without much talent and skate just to fit in
