Cycle whore thread
Only time I would consider new is with a leftover on considerable discount and for some reason I "need" to finance it.
But with all 600's you'll find one for a reasonable price low miles and not dropped if you're looking at late models. Not to mention, with used bikes as long as you have cash (in the event you eat shit) just about any one selling will let you ride.
I know the Triumph/BMW dealer in roanoke does test rides. So... yea :P

So i have been looking at purchasing a new bike. Looking at an R6. Sat on many and i like the way it feels. Sat on a CBR, GSXR, zx6r/636 and the r6 just kinda stuck out. I was wondering if you guys had any dealers that you would recommend. I went to sunrise and didn't like the experience there just to get a damn quote. Felt like i had to pull teeth just for them to give me a ballpark interest rate. Still haven't received the full quote. Then they try to insinuate that i should buy a Suzuki because it would be "cheaper" which kinda rubbed me the wrong way.
P.S.. Is there ANY fucking dealer that will let you test ride one.. I mean, even if it was just in a parking lot. I can understand why not just with the nature of the bike and the people around here that purchase them but i don't want to dump X amount of dollars on something i might not like 100%. I looked on Yamaha's website for demos and none come close-ish to hampton roads..

Test rides seem to be impossible on anything new locally as you found, unless you can find a demo day. I find this to be bullshit, as Harley or BMW will let you ride any of their bikes any day.
I'd also recommend buying used, you can find killer deals, you won't take a bath on a bike you may only have for a year, you can test ride, etc.
Thanks for all the info. I knew about bmw, harley, and triumph doing test rides. Just sucks that most dealers around here don't do events. I guess i should focus more on used. Might wait till the end of the season to pick up one for a good deal.
two bikes in a month.
On top of the VFR I brought home the other week...
I just bought a fucking IMMACULATE F3 CBR600.
6500miles. not even a speck of dust on it.
Needs carbs cleaned.
$1800
