Mid Atlantic Driving Events TRACK DAY #1
Mid-Atlantic Driving Events or [M.A.D.E.]
Setup by fellow road course guys/racers/instructors, [M.A.D.E.] was designed to bring events to a more local location (757/252).
We all know the world class that is V.I.R. or Summit Point, but for the most part they are a few hours away, and costly with time and travel expenses.
We have teamed up with Academi in Moyock NC to bring these driving events at a much lower cost, and without having to drive hours away.
All of our staff has many hours and experience with the track at Academi and have designed a program to help every level of driver enjoy their day of motorsports.
[M.A.D.E] will consist of 3 separate drive groups
GREEN GROUP - these will be the novice drivers, very limited to no experience. Always been curious about getting on track but feel its a bit intimidating? This group is designed just for you. We will have an instructor ride with you, teach you basic car control, and a nice and proper line to navigate around the track. You will learn signals to help communicate with your fellow drivers that will be on track with you. There is limited passing, and only passing with point bys (New drivers, you will learn all this before you you even hit the track, so dont sweat it)
BLUE GROUP - This is for a more of an intermediate driver, who has been on track before, doesnt mind being on track with other drivers, already aware of how to properly communicate with other drivers on the track, and also has limited passing zones. NO INSTRUCTOR REQUIRED
RED GROUP - This is for the advanced group, the racers who enjoy being close with each other on track, drivers with a little driving history in their log books. Passing will be open to these drivers on the whole track.
Our goal is introduce a lot of drivers into a comfortable learning experience. We would typically love to have a new person sign up for GREEN GROUP, and by the end of the day being comfortable to run with the BLUE GROUP.
We will break down sessions into 45mins each - thats A TON of driving time.
If you enjoy autoxing, and have yet to try out the road course thing, come give us a try ... think of the fun you could have while not having to come in after one lap.
Some of you guys may of been on this track at prior events that were held by another group (DRIFTWATER), and while we learned ALOT from them, this more newb friendly, ran alot safer, and this is a grip only event. While entertaining and amazing to watch, the drifters can destroy a track quickly.
ALSO PLEASE NOTE - we are all NASA/SCCA guys, and a MADE event will not be on the same weekend as a NASA MA event. Need to shake your car down before VIR or Summit, this is a perfect place to do so.
INSTRUCTORS - have a handful of really great guys, would be interested in having a couple more join our team, can promise free track time.
WE ARE 90% GREENLIGHT ON AUGUST 4th. Once registration opens, I will post a link. This will be a very limited car count for each run group.
