The Ride Game.
+rep for completing a challenge.I ride a Z1000, but I'm not afraid to get dirty.
Cool bikes btw, your's and your buddies.
Can I join the ride game?
Forgive me if I didn't search enough, but I didn't see a "New Members" section here so I'll do a quick one here. Was on the forums years ago when I had a few 240s but haven't been on in ages. Being as I've spent more time behind handlebars over the past few years I wanted to be active on this forum but start fresh. I live in Gates County NC not far from Sandbanks
and I have been creeping this thread for a while and really wanted to get involved. I have had a couple Shadows, CBR, a bobber for a spell, but I have always wanted a dual sport being as I spend a lot of time on dirt bikes and (mostly) quads in the dirt. What I really wanted was a DRZ-400 but being young trying to work my way up career wise and having an extremely limited budget pretty much ruled that out.
Living in a rural area where the only people that ride either have sport bikes and stretch them and ride the highways creeping around curves or buy Harleys and polish them all the time, a dual sport wouldn't be much fun anyway because none of my buddies ever had street legal bikes. Finally, my closest friend and long time riding buddy wanted to get a street legal bike and I talked him into a dual sport so, being more comfortable than myself financially speaking, went out and bought a brand new CRF250L. Awesome bike, but being I can't afford another payment right now I jumped on Craigslist like I usually do and looked for something cheap but ready to ride. I ended up with a '79 Honda XL500S. It's ugly as hell, kick start, six volt, drum brakes, rattles and ticks, but it's a blast to ride. It had the Clarke tank on it when I bought it; all I have done is replaced the ugly flat flimsy front fender with one I found in a pile of parts for sale on the way to Busco recently.
Anyway, really looking forward to riding up into the 757 and meeting some more folks into the dual sport/supermoto scene. (My apologies for the life story.)
I don't want this to count as an attempt to complete the challenge but I snapped a few on the state line (I know it said city) from our ride today. Perfect weather. (Mine is the ugly one.)

You should join up on advrider.com
A few of us are on there as well. Great site, tons of good people.
I have been on there a few times as a result of a Google search trying to find parts for this thing. Looks like a good place to join.

Also... someone is building a freaking PALACE on the road... enormous home!
I'll try to get pictures later after the construction crew leaves.

(It's a vid, click it.)
Won't count for this game since I didn't do it today, but that was from a ride we did earlier in the year. Probably the coolest spot I've ever been to on a bike, I think it was Reddish Knob, somewhere in Pocahontas County, WV. The trail going up is only open for 2 months every Spring. The video really does it no justice at all.
Sorry for the interruption, but the top of a hill topic made me think of it, now back to our boring city hills
