The Northeast's biggest MR2 and Alltrac Meet! Joe Pearlstien Memorial meet in NJ
Sorry to non MR2 and All-trac Celica owners, but this event is ONLY for MR2s and All-trac Celicas.
Now, I know a lot of you guys probably won't be down to drive 99% of the way to New York City, but I made the trip last year and I had the best time I'd had at any car event ever. If you have a weekend to spare, and you have an MR2 or Alltrac Celica, you will NOT want to miss this! Ok, on with the promo!
MARK YOUR CALENDARS! The 2013 Joe Pearlstein Memorial Bear Mountain Meet will be held by the Northeast MR2 Owners Club on Saturday, October 19th 2013, starting at 9am. The starting point is expected to be the Sheraton Crossroads Hotel in Mahwah, NJ.
This is a FREE event -- consisting of a ~90 mile scenic drive through Harriman State Park and Storm King State Park, a show & shine event with trophies and prizes, and the opportunity to meet plenty of other Toyota MR2 / Celica AllTrac owners and fans.
The event was started in 1997 by Joe and Roxanne Pearlstein who gathered a handful of their friends to enjoy the fall foliage and their Toyota MR2’s. Unfortunately, a little over year after the first meet, Joe was diagnosed with a serious medical condition and, passed away shortly thereafter. The MR2 community was distraught over Joe’s loss and collectively decided to hold future Bear Mountain meets annually in memory of Joe. All proceeds raised at the event via tshirt sales, raffle ticket sales, etc. are contributed to the American Cancer Society in Joe's memory.
Today, the Bear Mountain Meet is the largest Toyota MR2 meet in the northeast. Thanks in no small part to our generous sponsors, the turnout for last year’s event was the *LARGEST* in its 15 year history.
Approximately 200 people and 120 cars of all MR2 gens attended the meet and we raised $2000 for the American Cancer Society -- about $1000 more than the 2011 event -- thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and attendees. Photos taken by participants at last year's event have been posted

We recognize that we couldn't have accomplished this without the strong support of the MR2 community -- sponsors and participants. We need your help to make the 2013 event better than ever by providing participants with smaller groups on the scenic drive, improved welcome packages, more raffle prizes, and increasing our donation to the American Cancer Society by at least $500. If you would like to participate as an organizer or your organization would like to be a sponsor of the 2013 meet, please contact us ASAP. Our email address is MR2BearMountain@gmail.com
More info to follow, but please sign up for the event on the https://www.facebook.com/events/535683413150016 Northeast MR2 Owners event page and https://twitter.com/MR2BearMountain Twitter feed for real-time updates.
