A simple jotting down of the deal and two signatures would've cleared you of the burden of having to come out of pocket.

As for Phil the guy does have a point you told him it was in good working order and it wasn't. You admitted that it had issues and you didn't know about any of it, still the guy has a good complaint. In your line of work reputation is everything and if it were me I'd make this right just to show future potential customers that you stand behind your work. Your name is associated with the business. Whether he beat on it after the fact is a mute point. It wasn't what you claimed it was from the beginning. You honestly don't know what shape the transmission was in by your own accord. All in all it just seems like a smart business move IMO
agree

Yeah IMO even if it was a personal deal, non business related, you own a business in the same field, your name is affiliated with a shop. And you claimed the trans was fine, it wasn't. You "fixed" it, I'm guessing fifth gear is not part of the transmission, and a slight grind is not something to worry about on a "mint" transmission?

I guess what I am trying to say is , Corey traded a good tranny for one that he thought was good also, it ended up not being the case and now Phil does not want to fix it, it just seems suspect imo. I have seem a lot of adrenalines cars and they are very well done, but in this case it doesn't seem right to me.

I think everyone misses the point that this was an ls transmission connected to a said 500hp car. What do we know about ls transmissions? They are the weakest of all b-series transmissions. Thus it isn't unbelievable that you ran through the gears on a used ls transmission and tore it up.

Point being is you're still a stupid Honda fag that wants to cheap out on parts and wonder why shit breaks then try to blame the person that did the work/swap/trade with you.
