any good fish/pet stores around here?

aquarium pros has tons of information that might be useful to you. They listed a few different methods of treating ick in their FAQ that don't involve adding medications to the tank. The worst part about adding meds to your tank is that it changes the water chemistry, and in some cases kills off large numbers of the "friendly" bacteria (your biological filter). Hope this helps.

yall really cant blame the store you bought it from. in most cases, fishes that die after being bought is usually due to the handling of the fish. improper handling could lead to alot of stress to the fish and to the tank.

I vote Fish Safari, I get all my stuff from there, and they know their shit, you can even ask the shit about your fish and they're likely to know the answer.

On a side note, I went to check out Tonya's on Mercury Blvd this afternoon. They've got a great selection and the quality looks good. I'll definitely be going back to pick up a pair of their Green Terror Cichlids next week.

Tonya's pet center is so awesome.. I drove out there from vb for tree frogs and they had quite a few types you don't usually find around here. The fish section was the best, they had sea horses and stingrays and all these huge ass fish. I used to think animal jungle was cool until I worked there. I won't go there for fish because they never have enough people and it's hard to get someone to help you, or you have to wait forever. The reptile department has seriously gone down.. it used to be clean and have new animals all the time, now its the same old shit in dirty cages. fuck fish, buy kittens.
