If they knowingly released deathtraps, so be it. Just about every car on the road is a death trap. Cigarette companies but out cancer sticks by the billions daily with people knowing the affects from them. The people did not have to buy and continue driving the vehicles after all the negative press, thats there own fault.
Now that you've talked about the horrible things Ford has done by releasing 3 different vehicles, why not take a moment to see all the good they have done for the country and economy. You can use Google, I don't need to point it all out.

If I were to guess I would say that he is pointing out the obvious fact that Ford is not a perfect business. However, neither is any company for that matter. No one is holding a gun to the consumer's head saying buy this. A, the consumer should do some research on the vehicle prior to purchase. If they don't that is their fault. B, if they find in their research that the gas tank is in a less than desireable location on the vehicle, then they should decide whether or not they want to risk that type of potential disaster. I have an old chevy truck with a gas tank that sits behind my seat. If i was to get T-boned hard enough, with the right conditions I would blow up and die. I have mere lap belts and no head restraint. If I was to get in ANY sort of collision above 20 MPH, I would be injured. If I get into an accident however, I am not going to sue Chevrolet for not making my vehicle safer for ME because I knew these risks upon getting the vehicle. I understand a recall is an entirely different story, but then again, if one wants to purchase a vehicle with a serious recall i.e. firestone tire issues, then either take the risk and blam yourself or don't purchase the vehicle. go ford.

On the over all picture, I doubt that Fords safety record is much better or worse then any car company that has been around that long. He is not saying that Fords are unsafe vehicles.
He is saying Ford knowingly makes unsafe vehicles, and other manufacturers do not. Which is the completely ignorant. If it was true then the death rates in Fords would be higher than other manufacturers.
