This is true, but there are exceptions. Race cars also have pretty paint jobs to help promote their sponsors. Billy bob's mismatch primered duster may run 10s but looks like shit.

you have a point Brian. But all of the mods that are cool on race cars are cool on a street car. Yeah body kits and shit are not so cool. But think about it. All the cool shit that makes a car cool is found on race cars. And race cars are meant to look nice. There are asethics involved. People dont like to watch turds going down the track.
So a purpose built car on black steelies and rusted body work is not hot...looks matter

It's true their are some aethestics to it, but it's all very simple except for maybe the paint jobs. And none of it sacrifices performance. It all looks very functional. And the simpleness of functionality appeals to me.

I'm just going to say, I personally modify my car the way I like it. A lot of people will look at whats popular and just slap that on their car. Well, thats sad. I'm not into building my cars for other people. I do it because I like it. For example, when I bought my advan SA3R's a lot of my friends thought they looked like ass and blah blah blah, but guess what? I love those wheels, so they went on my car. Not because they were tredny (they don't even make the versions i had anymore)

My point is, reguardless of what car it is, do it for yourself not other people. That is all.

LOCO: Obviously Terry, Alfie, Me, and other in our "group" are good friends. We all pretty much share the same taste in cars, and get along... so it may come off as we are cliqish (sp) and it may be true i dunno.. but irregardless I don't look at a mustang owner and instantly assume they are a ignorant redneck, hell, I know some guys in RPM (not the shop) that are extremely cool, and hang out with em whenever I go out to broad.
