Yup, nailed it pretty good. Starting to look like one of Alvins old ziptie frankenstein bikes. Originally Posted by gnarlycharlie4u

The ability of the bike to hold value is another factor that I haven't quite made up my mind on. Sitting on the '11 zx6r was more comfortable to me then the '11 gsxr. I have been browsing used bikes as well, but haven't really found anything I like. Many people are just telling me to buy used and I have always done that with everything in the past besides my clothes pretty much and I am at a point where I just sort of want something new. I would like to not inherit someone else's problems. If the right bike and price come up used on a kawi, suzuki or honda I am going to buy it for sure. I am taking a lot of time to make a move because I want to be sure of the decision. I don't buy something just to sell it later. Any bike I buy I am going to keep till it doesn't run, or I wreck it.
I also was thinking about the handling comment that was made. I have ridden a 500 forever, it is not like the bike I bought to begin with handled like a dream pretty opposite probably compared to a modern sport bike. I know when I jump on the new bike I am going to have to relearn everything pretty much though.
Well just to let you all know respect the bike and i can say that to the fullest. I was out riding yesterday with my friend and not doing anything crazy just coming off the highway bike came out from under me on the low side. Got some scrapes on my arm and knee nothing to bad. Bike just has damage to the fairing on the right side.

yea... mine got hit in parking lots 2 times last year... I just park on curbs now... and they can kiss my ass... a $50 parking ticket is better than a $80 tow home cause they focked my shit up... of coarse I have yet to get a parking ticket.Originally Posted by djgrom

If you are going to buy used... If you want a really comfortable bike... I would tell you to look at the 03 - 05 R6 or the 06 - 09 R6s. I am mainly bias'd on those bikes... but I am for a reason... they are not hunched over like most of the sport bikes. The clip ons are mounted on top of the triple tree vs others that are mounted under the triple tree. This actually helps towards insurance as well... since last year... i found out that the bike is considered a sport touring bike and not a super sport due to where the clip ons are mounted... same goes for the Busa. I think the ZX14 is the same as well.
I know you dont want something that old... which is why I said about the R6s... it is the same model as the 03-05 it was just carried over from 06-09 as the R6s... and not the standard 06-09 R6. The advantage is they are seated a little more upright than most other bikes... which makes them more comfortable on longer trips... yet they are one of the most agile bikes available still. There is a HUGE market of aftermarket parts for them... since they were offered for 7 years.
but I can't take away from the ride on a ZX6R... it is a nice bike... but I will only say that for the 09 and up models.... as I have owned most of the other models and they do not compare. If I had to give it to the next in line.. it would be my roommates bike. Which is an 03-04 ZX6R. They are not bad... though still pretty heavy in the front.
The GSXR's I am not partial to any older than an 06... as in 06 they cut alot of body fat and bulk and gave the bike a much better look and feel. CBR's have been a pretty solid bike for ridability.. they are just not a bike that you would want to spend hours on the back of... they are not super comfortable.

So been talking to this dude for 2 weeks about him buying my track bike. He takes a look at it last week and says he's coming to get it from me the following weekend. Sat he sounds sure about getting it and then sends me a text at 3 this morning said he was leaving at 8am and should be here at 11am. I text him at 10am to ask him the status and he calls me 15 minutes later saying that he might have found another bike and asked if I wanted to part anything off my bike.
FUCK NO AND FUCK YOU FOR WASTING MY TIME. I personally hate when people ask me to part shit off a bike that I'm trying to sell whole. That shit is rude as fuck. Worst thing about this is that I booked a trip to Miami because I was convinced it was sold. Now I either have to sell this shit in the next 2 weeks or I am going to Miami with a lot less spending money than I anticipated.
