well tonight a deer hunted me down.. all almost succeeded in his task too! left my pops' house earlier tonight, and no more than a 1/4 away from the driveway a deer popped out right in front of me! i literally didnt even have time to roll off the throttle. so i hit the deer, go down hard, slide with the bike pinning my leg for a bit, get loose only to get flung and land hard on my side and bump my head again. all my gear died doing its job to make sure i didnt.

That is a testament on the importance of being geared up anytime you ride.
Maybe if your write one of thos motorcycle magazines you could get new gear for free? Especially if you have a pic of the stupid deer
