I've had young punks vandalize 2 of our cars and we reported that to the police. So I've randomly picked some nights and sleep on the couch next to the driveway. Just 7 (11:45PM) nights ago some young punks were being loud in front of the house and one stood next to one of the cars. I dialed that number and reported suspicious activity. Walked outside and asks
ME:"What are you doing with that car?"
HIM: "I'm running away from a dog"
ME: (looks around) "I don't see any dog!"
4 young punks walk away and stands in front of a house 5 doors away
12 minutes later 2 cruisers came and 2 officers were talking to them. My point here is the police will actually try to help you if you know what to say and how to wisely treat this situation. You running out there brandishing a gun without calling the police will make it worse for you.
Imagine if a neighbor calls the police on the "Ranger A and B" and the police show up and your waving a gun. You're gunna (not a typo) get guns pointed at you until they can straighten it out. And if you try to act all badass you might even get yourself shot at. You've just made this situation go from bad to worse cause they're trained to assess and react to the highest danger present: YOU and the would be vandals/thieves/whatever after.
You own a gun. Yippeee for you.
Learn how to use it wisely. Take another safety class cause the 1st one you took for the CCW didn't teach you anything.

So this mourning I was layin in bed at my apartment in Dumfries, I just wake up randomly a little before 4 AM and decide to check on my car outside my apartment window... I see a White Ford Ranger sitting there parked behind it with lights off and 2 guys standing next to my car.. So I grab my keys and set the alarm off and they jump back in the car and take off... no lic plate info.. to dark..

simple solution to that little shooting problem. when the cops get there just flat out tell them that you swore one of them was pointing a gun at you but that it was dark and you couldn't tell. if you "feared for you life" you'll walk.
