Cycle whore thread
oh how I wish the budget allowed for a cafe racer project...
some of my personal favs to satiate the hunger:

Production beauty, but cafe racer none the less..
If you guys are interested in building one, it's actually affordable, I just have taxes from 2 years ago I'm still trying to pay off. An old CB is a good platform to start with. Plentiful and cheap.

Also that last beaut you posted (literally named Bonita), that's a BCR tank and matching seatpan. About $5000 in the seat and gas tank alone. Side note: the builder is colorblind.
Also, this is fucking atrocious:

I feel like this whole 'cafe' thing is the new punk rock.
A bunch of kids rebelled, started a movement, and now someone else packaged it up and is selling it back to them and everyone else for a hefty profit..

Beauty doesn't always come cheap, as the tramp once said. But enough time, patience, and a little bit of skill can reward you with competitive results. And that's what earns my respect. I'll have to deduct 10 points for cheating with arguably the most important pieces that define the racer. and 15 for spending 5 thousand bones on it. But however much I try, I still can't deny a good looking bike...

I have my own 2 wheeled appreciations, but can find myself in new entourage and still recognize something deserving a humble respect. And while I respect the history, again, can't deny that presence. If my "cafe racer" project does become a reality, can't say I won't be enjoying it in my own little corner but I certainly won't desecrate its origins either.
