No, the cops would have stopped chasing a drunk driver to investigate streetracing. Hell, up here in Fredericksburg, I've seen cops on the way to real emergencies such as fires, stop to bother small groups of import guys, and just totally abandon their original call of going to the fire.

 

This is PG county though... Cops don't give a shit about petty crime

 

Pre F&F Metro and V street FTW. The cops cared less about street racing in those days.

 

And the idiots cared less too. It was nice back then.

 

shit sucks. how ever if you are going to do it. take it to a street where ppl are not going to be traveling down. common sense tho ppl. stay out of the street. you can see from the side lines. If you are still going to do it in the streets at least learn to have cars blocking traffic. this way un-knowing motorist can see some sorts of brake lights.

on the flip i feel very bad for those that where killed and hurt. no one deserves that.

Like I said before, I was there earlier in the night and I was amazed how many people lined the street. I was those mofos are going to get hit. Also why would you want to stand next to a dragster with wheelie bars knowing they would slide sideways at anytime? Heard on the news PG county police reporting they havent recieve any complaining calls about streetracing in over a year in half

All this bs set aside, its an unfortunate accident, and incidentally it is a crown vic, that looks to be ex pd car, but with that said no people shouldn't be out street racing blah blah blah, but further more people shouldn't be driving around with their lights off. so both parties were doing something illegal, but that car looks like it was going very fast by looking at the spread of the victims of the accident as well as the extensive damage on the car. all until all the facts are correct stop making assumptions unless you were there. thanks.... btw i was not there but i think you guys should stop talking all this crap and send your condolences to the victims families....

 

First of my condolences to the families that lost loved ones. In my opinion i would think that people would know better than to walk onto a highway in huge amounts of numbers just to watch who wins in the end. I would like to think that you would probably get the same view from standing on the side of the street. Its about common sense. Ive been to plenty of races. At no point did any1 walk into the middle of the street just to watch the race. The only person out there was the flagger , who ran to the side after he flagged. Yes if the street race didn't happen then people wouldn't be there but that doesn't excuse the fact that at no point did any1 use any common sense to say " maybe its a bad idea to stand in the middle of the highway". It just sucks to see this happen in maryland. It already sucks to drive a modified vehicle in virginia. Virginia "car guys" have found it better to go out to maryland but now even thats ruined. Its about using your head thats all.
