so, horror and dismay.
I was out in the garage installing some no-cut frame sliders i'd had lying around. I'd gotten to the part where you're supposed to start tightening everything down. I put the torque wrench on the first of the case bolts on the right side and start slowly working my way up to 15 pounds... all of a sudden, i hear a pop and the wrench goes slack.
yeah, I stripped out a few threads on that hole.
looks like with the spacers and the washer and the plate, and everything else, I was only engaging the outer 3 or 4 threads and 15 pounds was enough th break them.
on the bright side, the stock bolt still threaded into the hole and seemed to tighten down okay once I blew all of the debris out of the hole. I'll probably put a little loctite on that one just as some added security
long story short, I'm going to skip installing them

Finally after 3 weeks my bar end mirrors made it in!
