My bike is white.

Only reason I'd go oem is so I can make sure the color matches. I don't mind the 200 bucks. I'll probably just lurk around the cbr forums for one for sale.

edit: that one you posted is only like $30 less than OEM.

I know, I just thought it was a better style than the one you posted.

Yea, I do like that look better than the OEM one.

I'd just worry about paint matching/fitting correct. I'm OCD about that kind of stuff.

Charlie posted that crazy thing a while ago. How does one weld an exhaust like that without leaving material build up on the inside of the exhaust that would mess up the flow?

here's a custom 90 degree bend my friend made with similar constuction. from the looks of the inside, (warning: non-welder, untrained eye opinion ahead) you use fairly low penetration welds to seal the gap and rely on a more substantial initial tack for the strength. you can clean up the tacks as you are initially building the piece.

Wow, that is stinking sweet. I wonder how cost effective a custom GP exhaust would be compared to the aftermarket options available for the Duc.

Does your friend have his own shop or does he just have the machining tools available? I really want to get into metal working.
