It'll lower the gearing, the topspeed will lower but the acceleration will increase.
Just +2 in the back is pretty common.
On average, 1 tooth in the front is equal to 3 teeth in the back.
So essentially I'm increasing my mechanical advantage by 6 sprocket teeth.

If you don't get the ratio right yes... but for me 14/49 is only a 9.3mm difference.

Most of my riding is 0-60 and I'll probably never track it, so it makes sense for me.
I'd rather have ripsnorting acceleration than a "fast" bike.
