my sergeant found out that i had posted this and i was counseled for it. im not in trouble. he doesn't see this as "leaking info" because im just giving out a heads up to everyone. the only specifics that i have given out are the cars and what color they are. i would have gotten in trouble if i leaked the plate numbers and location of the vehicles. im not doing this to "backstab" my fellow officers. there are several officers in my dept that are aware of my actions. this program is a trial and error method, they just want to see if it works. i have a lot of respect for my fellow officers and also the people who are car enthusiasts just doing what they love to do. we aren't after the people who sit in parking lots to admire other peoples work, we are after the drivers that are in the parking lots planning on racing or doing burnouts. it may look like we're over doing it, and yea i guess in some aspects we are. i personally know that the percentage of tuners that are racing illegally is so much smaller than the people just hanging out. there is talk around the dept on finding an abandoned parking lot where people can just meet up and check out rides. but it's definitely a hard task due to the people that fuck it up for everyone by doing shit they're not supposed to do. just like there are people who just enjoy working on their car and not doing dumb shit, there are officers who are against these types of programs soley because they know not all tuners are out there to race. now, granted, there are some cops who are anal about everything and want to completely wipe out this "tuner trend". so it may appear all cops are assholes out to get you. not all of us.

oh and by the way, we are looking into requesting that tint/exhaust/etc be put into a sub-grey area of the laws. it may be a shot in the dark but its worth a try. some of the officers view the exhaust laws unfair because some vehicles come stock that break the allowed decibel level. for instance harley's are ridiculously loud for being stock. just giving a heads up.

I don't like being a cop as much nowadays anyway and i would be hated by a lot if i did this. i hate this fucking program to begin with, being all sneaky and shit. They are saying this will be a bigger project than Kroger's. The objective is to get in good with local tuners, find out their spots, then bust all of them. they will be writing down tags and videotaping everything. so far there is only 5 cars on this "police team". they are all custom painted dark blue with metallic flake. all are turbo and have the same body kit, but thats all i kno for now. i'll have more info tomorrow.
they been doing this in Nova for the past 5 years

touche

jimmy you gotta understand that also DVS (department of vehicle services) there the ones up here(prolly down there too) that paint police cars, repair them, fix them up, fix up the UC cars etc.. But these people are not cops and they leak the info as well. My friends dad is one, and one of my crew members crx was impounded and he was the one that turned it into a UC street race car. that was 5 yrs ago

What's that I smell?

Could it be bullshit?

I put 10 bucks that this "jdeprelude" guy is nothing more than a 17 year old kid that says "yea", "shit", "assholes" and "anal" when doing an incredibly shitty job at trying to sound like an actual officer of the law. I'm friends with several officers (Hampton) and I can't think of any that speak like that.

Not to mention, none of them had mentioned anything about this "tuner crackdown"

So, kind sir, in my nicest words - "Eat a dick, chump"

I just want to know a couple things. In the Commonwealth of Virginia you are not allowed to do any type of modifications to your vehicle. (From what I understand) Now these cars having aftermarket turbo parts automatically violates the law. So the Law Enforcement Agency is breaking the laws that they uphold so strictly. Do I smell a court case against the Virginia Beach Police Department or what? Please someone correct me if I am wrong... But that is just my .02 cents...

No, that's not the case.

Cocaine posession over a certain about is a felony punishable up to life in prison, yet police routinely carry large amounts for the purpose of catching those trafficking the drug.

Same with illegal guns, soliciation, etc. There are many cases where the police possess or offer illegal things in order to catch those who are breaking the law.
