GROUP RIDE
yeah its not like i WANT to ride double up all day long but hell hath no fury right? i wouldnt mind it if i still had the busa, carrying a passenger was hardly noticeable. hell if my girl was smaller i wouldnt mind (shes almost 6'1)
Count me in for this one as well. Mugene i will be leaving from richmond as well so i dont mind meeting up with you somewhere before hand and riding down together. This will be my first group ride with folks from on here but im always down for meeting new riders, esp the great folks from VADriven
. I will try and get a couple more people from up here to ride down as well but i will keep you updated on them to give you a better count. My only question is whether or not you will allow passengers on this ride or not? I dont wanna be the jacka$$ that shows up with his girl on the back and pisses everyone off

.Details…
WHEN: sunday, aug 24th.
WHAT: group ride
Time: 9 a.m. arrival 9:30 a.m. departing
Location: BP gas station right off of 64 at the victory blvd exit.
Itenerary: 9:00 am meet at BP refuel and air check bikes, departing by 9:30 am for the colonial parkway (we will be taking a senic route, short, but fun please observe reasonable speed during this part of the trip as im taking you through at least 2 neighborhoods with through-streets). Pick up the colonial parkway after cruising past yorktown beach. Take the parkway up to photo-op spot number 1. de-mount take a group pic with the water behind us and stretch for a minute. Get back on the bikes and continue up to the ferry to surry. When you are on the ferry you will of course have a chance to get out of the sun, break out some water from the tail piece of the bike, kick back and enjoy photo-op number 2. when we land in surry cruise the backroads (some places to stretch your bikes legs if you so choose) a little eventually leading us back through carrolton to the james river bridge (please note there has been increased “heat” on some areas of road in surry ). At the end of the bridge we’ll be stopping for lunch at the crabshack and photo op number 3. after that, if anyone wants to top off their bikes, there are plenty of fill stations near by on mercury blvd. after lunch there is a few different routes to go and we can all take a vote depending on the heat, and how yall feel. It should only be between 130 and 3pm by then. We could head back across the bridge and get “lost” in the back roads, we could hit the highway and roll down to va beach, or we could even split ways. The best “riding” ive done recently has been actually up in some secluded back areas through williamsburg but I realize we have some new riders than might not be comfortable running though a technical section of road.
**please note** people who are familiar with the roads and locations will be scattered through the pack to lead lost sheep back to the herd. We will more than likely get separated a few times because of traffic lights but don’t worry, in the event that the main group gets a bit far ahead, one of the riders from the front group will always be keeping an eye out and signaling the front runners to cut-pace to allow for the collective group to *gasp* regroup. I personally will have my tom tom on my bike just in case.
If you have any suggestions feel free to throw them up.
Also, if your bike supports it, I suggest at least two bottles of water as you are GONNA sweat. Don’t want anyone passing out.
