Went to the dealer to try on a Shoei RF-1100, because charley tells me it'll keep me quiet about wind noise :P

as I was leaving I was trying to budget buying one of these used for shits-n-grins

Not sure why but I've been on a DS craze as of late I really want one to goof off with.

eh you can probably get away with just pressurizing them. tap the fork cap with a schrader valve and blow her up

y'all are teasing me with all these v-max posts lately

The Vmax already has a schrader valve on the forks. You can put up to 14-15 psi in them, but you run the risk of blowing a fork seal. The stock springs are too soft, it would prolly be better to add extra fork oil and reduce the air pressure.

oh we ARE talking about v-maxes... yeah you're pretty much out of options there.

why not just do a whole front end swap?

I was just suggesting an easy way dyoungin' could improve the vmax's handling.

OR... just love it for what it is, and save the money for a second bike.

It's not that hard a job, do you have the tools?

No. Well all you need is a chain breaker or grinder right? I also don't have stands.
Looks more than likely I'll be making that trip to BMore tomorrow. A dude in Alexandria said he could help but, he's only available today and I don't think I can get it done today. Argh!
