Pre-04 mustangs, cobra or not, are pretty bad. Wet noodle chassis, 4 link solid axle, retarded spring rates, horrible IRS design for those equipped, etc. The 05+ I wouldn't mind doing some suspension modifications and having some fun. I wouldn't mind a Terminator with a few Griggs mods and have some open track fun though.

That's your opinion,The way you look at it, is if it doesn't take a road course like a Vette, it sucks.All 3 cars I listed are legendary, and most people would agree. You've got an "I'm a stuck up, road racing Corvette owner" attitude, and you don't even realize it.
I'm 6'3, and I have no issues reaching any shifter. Maybe you have Carnie arms?

What makes you think a Corvette is expensive to maintain? Car needs an oil change when the monitor tells you which is 6-8k miles, plugs & belts @ 100k, coolant @ 150k, trans/diff fluids @ 100k.... that's it.

Was that 12.1 run on drag radials or stock tires? Id imagine when people who know how to drive get behind the new mustang it will do a lot better than a 12.8
