AP2.
It sure is.

And of course it's the only color that belongs on a proper Honda…

You have better chances of getting attacked by a Great White while getting struck by lightning than finding a GPW CR.
I've been looking for a mint low mileage one for a very long time. One was in Cali earlier this year, 9k miles, seriously mint, $34k. It sold within a couple days. But, it was a delete model, no thanks. The only thing that kept me from moving on a CR last year, was the hardtop situation. I like to be able to drop the top whenever I want. A CR seriously restricts that.

I seriously only drive my car with the top down. I mean, there is no other way. For that reason alone is why no dudes ride with me. The last thing I want is to drive around top down with a dude next to me.
I specifically wanted an AP1 because:
-Suzuka blue is the most superiorest of S2000 colors, and looks better on the AP1 body
-Quicker steering rack
-9K redline (and the swooping tach, hate the short tach on some of the AP2s)
-no clutch delay valve
-I preferred the 1-4 gearing
-I liked the simpler design of the headlights and taillights
-easier to put a single exit exhaust and cover up the extra bumper hole
-no silly traction control or drive by wire nonsense
Of course the AP2 has some functional advantages. I think it's been said..the AP2 is the better car, the AP1 is the better S2000.
The CR cures the steering rack problem. Ideally I'd like a CR with a Euro/JDM F20 with the revised valvetrain. Still revs to 9k but doesn't burn oil!11!1!
BUT FUCK YOU AP1 IS THE BESTEST.
In all seriousness, an 03 AP1 was my first choice for an S2000, after that it was an 04-05 AP2. The first S2000 I ever drove was an AP1, and the feeling of a car that required active controlling at the limit was fantastic.
Although I dont feel my car ever tries to kill me. Yeah it'll slide the rear tires around turns when I'm pushing it, but its usually a really easy to catch 4 wheel drift that ends up right where I was going with the car anyway without any loss of speed. But then again, I was told by an instructor with NASA that I have fast hands so I dunno. I think the "twitchy" thing is overhyped by kids coming from FWD hondas, which, lets be honest, handle like shit the majority of the time and plow like a tractor.
