yeah suffolk would be cool. but keep in mind that you need more than a quarter mile. you need a breaking zone, parking/pit area, it probably has to have area around it so that the strip cannot be heard by residents. And ti may have to be commercial property. I am not sure on that though. Keep in mind that Virginia Motorsports park in dinwiddie is built on 700 acres. I know you probalby won't need that much or there could be a reason why they need that much land. But if you are serious I am behind you 110%. If not, I'll just build something a few years from now. lol
growing up i and a group of rollerbladers that moved in from cali and all over helped get a skate park in junction city ks. we used car washes to afford alot of stuff. we rasied alot of money and we got the word out on what we wanted. we would post in the news paper when we were having car washes. people would just drive up and hand us wads of cash and drive off happy. we raised over 70,000 dollars in a few months and then the city gave us a grant to match it. a few big buisnesses handed us some big checks too i am sure it could work. a make shift drag park is not going to fly in the eyes of some congressman i am sure it will be thrown out. we used the insurance as if it was a normal city park which cut liability cost in half i sure there is some law we can find it can fall in to like that. i am in for helping too.

Dudes! didn't you all know that back in the 60's & 70's there WAS a drag strip in Virginia Beach. It was at NOLF Creeds. NOLF stands for "Naval Outer Landing Field" for you non-navy types, and is just south of NAF Fentress.
I have been there...in fact I was there about two months ago, and it is still there! It's even owned by the City of Virginia Beach!
Currently the Cops using it for weapons training...I think.
The Track is still visible, but in need of dire repair. Here's a link to show you a view of the airfield, and you can still see the track!

IMO, the real problem will not be finding a sponsor, or even a place away from everything to do it. It's all going to be about the old fucks (that bitch, the mayor included) who hate on our sport!
There is one other tool that we can use to show the city that this can work for all, at the same time that it can make money for city, plus making the streets safer.
The City of San Diego has a Street racing program that has been a big hit.

Now if we could ever UNIFIED as a group...meaning the coming together as ONE single voice...we...THE VOTERS...could sell this.
It can be done, and IS being done, in San Diego.
